Haxhi

I can not praise the hospitality of this restaurant enough! I was asking around for where I should eat one evening and was told that Haxhi was a must. Today I decided to make the trip (as it was a 40 minute walk from my accommodations) to Haxhi, and I can say I was not disappointed. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted by the owner who sat me down and immediately took my food order. I ordered the Greek Salad (which was massive and could easily feed two people), the White Cheese (which came with bread) and the Calamari (which came with roasted eggplant and zucchini). Everything tasted absolutely wonderful and I was left completely full, and could have easily shared the meal with another person. To my surprise, the owner offered me a complimentary Raki, and brought me a cake as well. This was amazing, but the hospitality did not end there! As it was pouring rain, the owner's son offered to drive me home. You would never find this kind of hospitality anywhere else! Whilst I will be returning to Haxhi for the delicious food, the real standout feature of this place is the amazing hospitality they show their customers.

One of the best restaurants I've visited, and surely the best in Albania. Food tastes amazingly good. The owner and his son are very friendly and service is quite fast. Very simply and nicely decorated. A must-try

This is an amazing family restaurant. We stayed in Sarandë for 5 days and 5 evenings visited Haxhi - ate their food once and couldn’t stop. We ordered grilled fish, octopus, 2 dishes with shrimps and chicken fillet - everything was fresh and of wonderful taste. The people working here are a real team of professionals. The owners cook and serve food themselves. They are friendly and super attentive. Highly recommended!

Met some friends for coffee and raki. Owner was very personable. Gave us fresh fruit and a type of cake. Next time we will try the seafood that we have heard wonderful things about.

Just perfect! Host was a real inkeeper - we were treated like at grandma’s dinner. Huge portions, great quality and no mercy - when we thought we finally ate everything, we received great cake as dessert (on house). You just have to visit this place, highly recommended!
