Luanda Harbour

Busy harbour that has been extended over the years. Lots of goods coming in and mostly ships heading out. A good mix of oil supply vessels and goods vessels making up most of the traffic. Water is pretty polluted so wouldn't recommend a swim though that's probably illegal. You need a pass to enter so unless you have businnes within the harbour the best you can hope for is a view of it from the distance.

The port of Luanda is an Angolan port located in the city of Luanda, the national capital, in the province of Luanda. It is connected to the city center of Luanda and the district of Ingombota. It is located in the Luanda Bay, which is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by the island of Luanda.

The history of the port of luanda began about 500 years ago, when Paul days Novais chose to disembark in a region near the mouth of the Kwanza River. The bay of Luanda was the ideal point, since, besides allowing to combine deep waters and good protection against the waves towards the prevailing winds, also it allowed the construction of fortifications from the entrance of Corimba until San Pedro.
