On this tram station you can get a great ride to the top
The train to the Schlossberg is certainly more idyllic than the lift. Doesn't cost much either and is entertaining. The best tariff is to drive and walk down the stairs.
It can be used as a ticket for public transportation (Studenkarte, Semesterkarte, Tageskarte, etc.). It is also possible to climb the mountain while looking at the new town of Graz, which is short but beautiful.
