We had a reservation to camp with a tent but it was so crowded that we decided not to stay. We were looking for a socially-distanced weekend away and it seemed completely unsafe. Full parking lot, cars parked all the way down the road, and tents crammed in to a very small space. The owners didn’t seem to be doing anything to limit the numbers. The lines to get into the gasthaus were long and there were a ton of people packed inside. Extremely disappointing after driving several hours to get there.

Really one of the nice locations to camp in Austria. Especially when you are in a tent, since you will be on a hill next to the water. Also the is a BBQ and a place to make a camp fire. Why did I rate only 4 stars? ... The camping has a bit annoying features.. If you are here for less then 3 days it is ok. For instance you need to pay 50 cents to do your dishes and for the showers. There is no bin near the dishes, which gets really annoying. Furthermore, It is quite expensive if you compare the camping to other campings.

Excellent camp, we were tent camping. Scenery is amazing, the lake is warm. Electricity hookup can be a bit far away. Food is a bit pricey but exceptional. The campsite is on a hill which is a bit of a problem. The biggest downside is that you can’t drive to the campsite so therefore have to move all of your equipment in a cart. In our case this means three trips.

Nice place to stay, just be aware that the reception closes at 18 o clock, it is quite small and rather expensive, 39€ for a caravan 2 adults & a child, electricity, showers & dishwashing not included. Otherwise the view is exceptional...

Paradise on earth! friendly helpful staff, 8 minutes drive to Aldi in nearby Windischgarsten. Great views from every pitch. Pitches are gravelly for campervans, no shade. Very sloping grass for tents. Wash facilities are very quaint and clean, but limited, so you may have to queue for a shower. The lake was 21C, lakeside grass areas for lounging can be very busy, as there a lot day trippers who swim at the lake too, but it's very quiet until 10am, and then again after 4pm. Would certainly visit again.
