Was on 11.10.2019 on the via ferrata. Brutal good !!! Was all alone, therefore dangerous, on the north side and at the top was snow without a trace. On the descent Engelkar up you could ski down. But I arrived at 6 o'clock at the mountain railway .... that was then closed ... aaaaaah!

I was on this via ferrata today on 27.10.2018. It was good by snowfall that was was gone and the whole mountain was naturally wet the rocks did not take any snow yet. The via ferrata is overall pleasant even when wet, I found it unproblematic. This is one of the heavier climbing routes you can choose from. The only thing that is different here, why there are only four stars, is that the wire rope is much thicker than usual. What is beneficial in this season and weather is that no other climbers are on the way. All huts in the area had already closed and the chairlift was in the final stages before the winter season. I will be back with my children. But of course in the summer. By the way to the hut you can say that it has a winter room, but this is closed.

An incredibly good but difficult via ferrata up to the Maldonkopf (2632 m) ascent: Use the chairlift to help you ascent to Alpjoch (attention, last descent 4:45 p.m.!) Continue to Muttekopfhütte (approx. 25 min) the path left up to the entrance ( approx. 45 min) The path was newly renovated in 2018. The emergency exit has been removed. The D / E in the last section have been slightly defused, but remain demanding (see pictures and website). On the descent over the Engelkar (scree field) leave your distance while running and still keep your helmet on. Back to the Muttekopfhütte approx. 90 minutes. The Alpine Coaster is worth going back to the valley. (The times given are for guidance only, duration depends on the weather, number of people on the climb, breaks and fitness.)
