Once my wife and I decided to move to her home country of Switzerland we thought the smartest place to go for the correct information and procedures would be with an embassy. Not only did they give me the completely wrong information leading me to technically enter the country illegally on the wrong visa, leading to a number of troubles. But now I have waited 11 months still for my permit to be approved, not able to work. It seems like the incompetence is not unique just for this said embassy but through the whole system. I hope the people working in this embassy see this and understand the weight that their mistakes can make. And if you decide to go to this embassy for help or information I highly recommend checking the information given to see it is correct.

I don't think you can find such a wonderful, caring and friendly staff elsewhere. They provide a super quality service to all. Go with complete documents to get the visa well-advance your departure.

This is the most friendly consulate I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot of consulates of different countries! Everyone was polite, nice, helpful and professional at the same time. I've never thought applying for a long term visa could be so drama-free. Thanks to the lovely girl at the reception and particularly many thanks to Vice-Consul Mr Keller!

Consulate general of Switzerland in Sydney was so helpful, they answered my email within 12hours. The online application and online booking system work perfectly and so easy to complete. The Lady at the visa counter was very helpful, friendly and professional at the same time, she went through my documents and gave me advices for a few mistakes I made. I had a very good experience, when you ring them is like you are ringing your friend somebody will answer the phone almost immediately , you are not on hold forever in the queue, they give you the information you are after in a friendly manner. Our date of travel was just 10 days away from the date of application. We needed a Visa for my wife for Hungary, not even for Switzerland. The Visa got approved and returned to us in a blink of an eye saving us the stress. They are leading by example.
