I had spine surgery recently at East Sydney and the service from start to finish was amazing. All the staff from administration, theatre, ward and Doctors were impeccable and by far the best hospital experience I have ever had. My private room I stayed in and the food served felt like I was staying in a boutique hotel rather than a hospital. Could not recommend highly enough. Thanks again to all staff who were involved in looking after me.

From the second I walked in all staff were so lovely and attentive. They were apologetic of any delays and checked on me regularly. Made Me feel really comfortable after my surgery.

I had a knee replacement operation on 12/12/2020 at East Sydney Private hospital. My surgery went perfectly as my surgeon is the most amazing and reputable surgeon in this field. Once I came to in the recovery I was sent to the ward and that is where my most horrifying aftercare experience began. I have had 4 other surgeries done in private as well as public hospital in my lifetime and had never been treated the way I was treated at this hospital. PCA was removed from my room without consulting me. My pressure bandage applied by my surgeon was removed from my leg without my consent. I was told that I have been given sufficient medication and yet I was still feeling all pain. The physiotherapist did not come to visit and mobilise me until 54 hours later. My friends came to visit and had to help me out of the bed and get me walking so the catheter can be removed as per my surgeon’s request. Many more examples of similar incidences occurred during my stay at this hospital from 12/12/2020 to 16/12/2020. I am extremely upset and disappointed of the type of care I received during my stay. I would never vgoto this hospital for anything ever again.

1. Medibank Private owns 49% share, where is the open disclosure ? 2. Considering Orthopaedic surgery ? ask why ESPH ? Maybe, just maybe, it is because the Surgeon and Anaesthetist receives AMA rates, nice if you can get it. Joint replacement is MAJOR surgery and need ICU ? - well too bad there is none. Ask !!! To recap, surgeon is paid more and you stay less. No ICU. Mmm. Rehab at home. More Mmmmm. Health fund seems to win, WAIT Medibank owns 49% and saves $$$. Capital MMMMMMM. Major health insurer Medibank now owns 49% of East Sydney Private Hospital as part of a broader strategy aimed at advancing the short-stay model of care. To fund capital investment and operational costs needed by the Woolloomooloo-based hospital to scale, Medibank is initially investing $8.8 million in the business. East Sydney Private Hospital currently has 32 beds and five operating theatres, as well as a close observation unit.

Got great service from the nurses yesterday before and after my surgery. I don’t know about other wards or other nurses, but Lizzie and Jane, were so lovely, and accomodating, and really patient with me when in recovery. I just hope if I have another surgery, that I have them again :)
