This is the best IGA I have ever been to. It has a full meat and cheese section. The fruit is phenomenal. Prawns are tasty. It has everything you need.
The only option on the island for groceries. Very handy as the restaurants are booked solid for at least 3 weeks in advance. Take your own carry bags though.
The IGA shelves were empty but the staff were lovely. However the guy managing the bottle shop was the rudest man I've encountered in service for some time. No eye contact, rude, no pleasantries and when I asked how he was, said thank you and even wished him a wonderful day (after he acted like I was a nuisance for purchasing items).... he looked at me like I'd kicked him in the nuts. Time to get out of the service industry if you're miserable and not take it out on customers.
With a change in location there's been a big change/upgrade in what's available. There's fresh fruit and veggies, a fresh seafood section and also a bottle shop. My only criticism would be the bottle shop relies a little heavily on Oatley wines (the island's owner) and the haven't quite got supply/demand sorted given how busy the island is at present.
Store is well maintained and always looks clean and welcoming. Only grocery store on the island so monopoly on the food prices, but considering travel is via ferry shuttle it’s probably about right. Bottle-o attached is also nicely laid out and clean.
