Whoever is in charge should be sacked. The phone just rings out, the phone options just send you back to the website (which doesn't have the answers) and the other options on the automated switchboard either don't work or say that the voicemail is full and cuts you off. Being the British Consulate I would have hoped that it would have been organised and managed with superiority, sadly this is far from the case.

We were one of many who attended the British Consulate in Sydney during Covid 19. We always thought help would be available at difficult times. However, we learnt as did many who visited the consulate on the same day that sadly this is not the case. They were not prepared to meet or answer any questions face to face or take anyone’s details. Requesting everyone telephone the consulate, which is a challenge when lines are permanently engaged, also there was no email address available. Wish I could have recorded no stars as they provide no assistance.

On 26/3/2030 my wife and I tried to get back to the uk from Sidney Australia With no joy, we ended up, along with around 30 other brits, at the British consolate in Sidney. We were met by a security guard who told us that none of the British embassy were in work, due to social distancing... Even this poor girl, was offered to stay at home, but she chose to meet with us, this was not an easy task, but a brave one. Were were simply handed, without protective gloves, a printed piece of paper that had numbers that are never working... We have been abandoned by our government and Qantas are holding all monies as vouchers, for flights that are It was suggested in a round about way, that if we returned in numbers, police may be called to disperse us.... We are frightened and many of us are out of funds I have spoken to mentally ill people and those who are to homeless if they cannot return home to the uk
