I had the necessity to phone the Embassy regarding a Special Power of Attorney, after the passing of my mother-in-law in Santiago ~ I was extremely fortunate to receive Monica on the end of the phone. Monica was knowledgable, professional and most importantly, nothing appeared to be too much trouble. She advised me what to do, which I did, and we are now waiting for an appointment to finalise the execution of the Power of Attorney. The service so far has been exceptional. Congratulations Chilean Embassy!!

I’ve read the reviews and I was ready to deal with poor customer service and rude people. We have quite some experience when it comes to Consulates around the world and visa processes. Now I can’t say that this specific process was easy nor quick: it actually took much longer than expected and it’s been frustrating at times. BUT: I could always get in touch with the visa office via phone (i.e. they always answered my calls) and when we finally came all the way from Brisbane for the face to face (the moment of truth) we met very welcoming and nice people, we were actually welcomed with a smile, and we had the opportunity to meet the Consular General himself who spent time with us with the sole purpose of welcoming to Chile! Hence the 5 stars.

Monica was great! She was really nice to us and did her best to make my daughter comfortable. Yes, things take time, but that's the Chilean way and they have now added EFTPOS which makes things much easier.
