Battered at the Bay

Hands down the best fish and chipper in La Perouse! So much better, fresher and more authentic than the 'obvious choice' neighbor. I can recommend pretty much everything, grilled octopus, fish of the day, salads. And all that for so much better prices than the more famous place down the road :) And Battered... are also fully licensed so you can enjoy a cold one to your fish and chips. The only minor improvement would be more sustainable crockery/cutlery for eating in (not cardboard and plastic) and longer opening hours, so we could enjoy the later sunset also in summertime :)

Great spot to stop for lunch. Everything is tasty and fresh. The customer service is friendly. The food came out quickly, even though it’s Good Friday. Deducted a star as the fish was a bit too oily and needed to drain a bit longer. But all in all, definitely would go again!

I went there for lunch with a friend. we both had fish and chips and a salad to share. The serving was a lot larger than we expected, piping hot and the batter was thin and crispy while the salad was large, fresh and tasty. It's good value for money and neither of us was able to finish the meal, not for want of trying.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime, was fairly busy, and only about 10mins wait for my food. Really good fish and chips! Couldn’t complain about the food at all, fish was juicy, and the batter was perfect, they even had malt vinegar! It’s not a British fish and chips, they don’t claim to be either, but this is one the best fish and chips I’ve had in Sydney. Will definitely return, I also love how they served the food on ‘newspaper’ lovely little touch :)nIf I had one improvement it would be to have a bigger tub of tartare sauce, maybe even a homemade one.

Seafood eatery/cafe, overlooking a park and the La Perouse Bay. Good selectiion in the menu, very reasonable and generous servings and easy parking. A nice place to walk around after a meal, just visit early on the week-end, as it gets crowded for parking.
