We have been using the Security Door Flush Bolt W203817 for many years with great success. We buy 50 at a time. Whitco decided to delete/discontinue this item from their range. No reason given.

Purchased a Whitco door opener at Bunnings thinking that I'm happy to pay more for an Australian product instead of a cheaper Chinese product. When installing the new opener it dropped on the ground accidentally with springs and parts going everywhere. Tried to reassemble myself but no schematic provided making the task difficult. So I called Whitco hoping to get some technical advice to help me reassemble the opener. A pleasant reception lady said she would pass on my details to their technical person who was to call me back. Despite being now many weeks later no phone call. As it so happened I eventually worked out how to reassemble myself through persistence. No thanks to Whitco with its lack of interest and customer care. Needless to say, I won't be buying this brand again. Very disappointed especially after trying to support Australian business.

Difficult to get information regarding the way to order locks from this manufacturer. Had a broken latch for a Whitco Leichhardt series screen door lock and latch kit. No where does it say in their website that spare parts are not available.nnTo restore these locks you need to replace them . If your key barrel(s) still works you don't need them replaced. Here are the steps you need to know before you DIY.nn1. Are you comfortable doing this type of DIY? If yes let's go.n2. Download the Whitco catalogue (pdf) from their site.n3. Measure the height of the sliding door to obtain the centre line of the door.n4. Halve the height of the door I.e. if it measured 230cm tall then you have 115 cm as the centre line.n5. Measure the height from the floor to the centre of the standard locking keeper - the biggest part of the locking mechanism.n6. If the locking keeper is above the half way height it is said to be above the centre line. If it is below the half way point it is below the centre line. Look at which one is yours in the catalogue and go to bunnings special order desk and order the appropriate kit for your situation and pay $107 for it. By pass the locksmith - the processed order takes 1 to 2 weeks.nnThere are videos showing how to install this online. Do be aware that some fittings are shown being cut. Don't follow this if you are refitting a 3 point lock kit. The attached image shows the locking keeper.

I installed a Whitco sliding door lock about three years ago. Unfortunately the external lock barrel became jammed and fell from its housing. I purchased a replacement from Bunnings and noticed a stated 10 year warranty. I did not have proof of purchase, but retained the packaging. I contacted Assa Abloy and was advised to provide details. A prompt return email gave me options of replacement, repair or refund. I aaccepted the replacement option and a new lock arrived three days later. Great technical support on replacing an obsolete specialist lock. Job is now completed and very pleased with the result.
