Do your research people before ever placing your dear old parent in Japara, Moorindil Street, Tewantin, Qld. After watching A Current Affair story tonight 22nd April 2021, its so sad and distressing to see nothing has changed with this place. My sister and I placed our dear old Father, who had Lewy Body dementia, in their supposed care back in 2010, he passed away mid 2011. Worst thing we could have done back then, he deserved so much more. Valid concerns we would raise on behalf of my Father to staff or management fell on deaf ears, and there was always something to complain to management about. I will forever carry the guilt and saddness of my father's time he endured in this awful place.
Do not subject your loved ones to this shameful organisation. Your loved ones will be at risk.
My parents have lived at Japara Noosa for the past 3 years. I can not fault. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The staff are kind, caring and accommodating. Amazing staff doing a very challenging job.nnGreat food, plenty of activities and the surroundings are extremely pleasant.nnManagement go above and beyond to address any issues that may come up in a helpful and prompt manner.nnThankyou to all the Noosa staff for your exceptional care and support. Great staff with excellent communication. Both our parents ended up in the high care dementia ward and were treated really well. As a family we all felt they were very well cared for, the food was above average, and as others have stated, there were a decent range of activities.
Top staff, lovely environment, food excellent. Both parents were placed into care here 3 years ago. They are happy and contented, well looked after. We are able to travel part of the year and know they are so well cared for. The staff will ring us if someone is ill or fallen over, so that is reassuring. There are activities that keep the elderly amused, music and sing songs, even foot spas. We feel so lucky that they went to this lovely caring centre.
