Short version: I was overcharged and the manager insisted on not refunding my money.nnI purchased 1KG of garlic that was expiring the same day. Later on, I noticed that I was charged full price instead of the advertised price. I still wanted to use the garlic and I had six university essays back-to-back, so when the essays were almost all finished and I had finished what was in the packet, I came back to the store with the receipt and packaging. I understand that it is not ideal to come some weeks later, but it is also nonsensical to go out of my way for a refund of a few dollars until I happen to go there again. I cannot imagine that the ANU students would be trying to run a scam with genuine receipts and packaging with prices and dates on the packaging from this business.nnAt the store, the sales lady called a manager, and the manager gave two reasons as to why he didn't want to return my money:n1. The date for when the garlic was picked for marking down was the day before it was purchased.n2. He said that if I was unable to come back straight after purchase, I should have called. I don't see why I would get a refund over the phone more easily than in store, however. He argued that the issue for him is that he couldn't know if I was genuine or trying to do this as a scam, despite having packaging with pricing on it and the receipt.nnBased on other comments, I see that this is the store's business model to generate extra income (stealing from customers).nnThis is my second similar experience like this since I arrived in Canberra. Fortunately, I have mostly had better experiences here, however.

A convenient location in the heart of the city. Open 7 days a week and you can find almost anything you might need at this location. Fresh vegetables daily is a bonus. Also if you get hungry after shopping you can just drop in at the nearby McDonald's or Subway. The staff here are friendly and helpful. I am also amazed at their selection of canned goods. The price of items are reasonable not too high-priced. The place overall is just excellent ud83eudd19

This IGA doesn’t abide by the IGA scanning code of conduct. Instead they like to argue the point. Glad I had this experience on my first visit, won’t be returning. Truly a 0 star experience.

Quick place to pick up some essentials. Staff were friendly and prices are cheap to expensive. It does the job.
