Willoughby Hotel

Nice local pub to have a beer or watch the footy. Beers on the cheaper side which is good and food is average price. Has a membership system that frequently makes me offers making it a decent pick. Staff usually friendly, however once or twice I'd say a bit grumpy (nothing major - but couldn't help notice) 1 star down as I feel the bistro is pretty inconsistent at times - there are better bets in the area, but still pretty good.

Chilled out, cool, Covid safe, friendly staff and clean bathrooms! Was here for a couple of drinks and a quick bite. Will go again.

It was ok, they had a nice rose but a large glass was nearly $20.00 and it wasa good rose. I'm a bit over having to climb up on bar stools at my age, its for 20 something.First floor was nice as is the ground floor. Again mainly dinning tables or high bar stools outside. I did enjoy my one glass of rose I think it would be more fun in a group for dinner.

Extremely poor pub. We booked the Melbourne Cup Lunch event, the food looked great but tasted terrible. The service was arrogant, unfriendly and surly. Even wrote to the management about the extremely poor level of service, and they blamed us for coming late. Good example of poor management and even worse service. Won’t be returning and will let as many people know as possible to do the same.

Poor form from Willoughby Hotel last night. Went for the Thursday 2-1 deals and ordered two steaks and two schnitzels. Common sense dictates that 2-1 means that you order two of the same meal for the price of one i.e. pay for one schnitzel meal and one steak meal in this case. Was subsequently charged for two steak meals as they were the "more expensive options". Had to confirm the logic behind this transaction and asked the attendant "So if I had purchased two steak meals in one transaction and two schnitzel meals in another transaction I would have been charged for a steak and a schnitzel rather than two steaks" to which the answer was "yup". The attendant proceeded to be extremely arrogant and rude when all that was needed was "sorry mate, that's the process there's nothing I can do about it" was required. Saying "what are you complaining about" and "you need a beer". So bloody unprofessional. On top of that the steak was dry, good garlic bread though would recommend.
