ALDI Dapto

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I will following my experience today. I was at the checkout buying a bottle of wine when the woman serving me (short blonde hair and glasses) asked to see my ID. I usually don't mind this despite the fact that I am nearly 31 and do not look like I'm under 25 (as legally specified by law). I showed the woman my ID and made a passing comment about how as I'm 30, it's been a while since I was under 25. I was about to thank her for the complement, but before I could, I was cut off by her rude and somewhat condescending remark.nNow, if this is where the story ended, I wouldn't have bothered leaving a review here, but unfortunately the woman continued. She followed her initial rude comment by lying to my face, telling me that just recently the NSW law regarding checking ID for all those who look under 25 had now been increased to include all those who look under 30 and that from now on everyone who looks under 30 must now show their ID to buy alcohol. I was quite sceptical at this as I have not heard anything of the sort - nor had the signs been changed from 'looking under 25' to 'looking under 30' as I would expect had the law actually changed as she insisted. I did not confront her about what I suspected was a lie as I did not want to cause a scene. I left Aldi and quickly searched Google where there was no sign whatsoever that the NSW government has increased the age to 30. This confirmed my suspicions that the woman had lied to my face about a change in NSW state law (Is this even legal to do? Informing the customers of incorrect and misleading information about changes to the State Law?)nI wanted to leave a one-star review as I found the way I was spoken too today to be petty, dishonest and unprofessional, but as my other experiences with more professional staff members in this store have been far more positive I will not do that.

Decent sized store and checkout move relatively quickly.

Whilst restocking the shelves , the staff seem to think they should have right of way and that restocking the shelf is more important than getting in the customers way. Maybe it needs to be explained that if customers don't buy anything , they won't be needed to stock the shelf.Also during covid social distancing restrictions, the staff think that the rules don't apply to them.
