Aquatic Pet

Same experience as others happened to my poor daughter and she rang the store to find they had given the cat to someone else. It should be deposit, hold, not give us you details and we will run our own personal perfect match game. It feels very discriminatory.

Long story short: Was put on a waiting list for a kitten, promised a call within 5 days, no call, and when I called them they told me the cat had been sold the previous day and that everyone had been called. I was not called, neither was my boyfriend, and I felt as though they discriminated against me based on appearance and age. Appalled.nnI was very interested in purchasing a kitten and was put on a waiting list for 5 days in which they would call me to tell me it was available or not to purchase. I was told I was third on the list. I put mine and my boyfriend's number down; we were extremely interested. Asked questions, came in often; the lot. Called in on the fifth day for an update because we hadn't heard anything and was wondering if the kitten was okay because it had recently gotten stitches. They informed me the cat was sold the previous day and that everyone on the list was called, followed by a comment saying that not many people answered.nnI did not answer, because I did not receive a call. Neither did my boyfriend.nnI am not upset that the cat went home with someone else, I am appalled that people were put on the list and it seemed like the store workers picked and choosed who they wanted to call. I confirmed my number over the phone and the lady told me my numbers were correct on the list and that my name had been highlighted as though they had called me, which they hadn't. I think it is ridiculous that firstly you have to be put on a waiting list for a kitten rather than just putting down a deposit, and then you have to sit there in suspense for days with no indication of when or if they might call. I had no missed call, no voicemail, nothing, neither did my partner.nnI've always liked this store because of the rescue animals and the way they tend to care about them and the owners they go home with. I have witnessed them turn away potential owners because their homes sound unsuitable. If they had have told me that they did not think I was a suitable owner for the cat I might have been okay, but to not call at all is ridiculous. Also, they asked no questions about my at home life and responsibilities and I felt as though they judged me based on appearance, personality and age which is discrimination at it's finest. I have ADHD and come on strongly sometimes, but this does not mean that I am in any way unable to take care of a kitten in a house of six loving, already experienced pet-owners.nnAbsolutely disgusted with the way things were handled and will never be coming back.

Horrible experience. Was told they would keep a cat we wantes on hold and then they gave it to another family. Even though the day before they said we are a great fit for the cat. Extremely heartbroken by thia experience. Cannot be trusted.

Got my self one of those kittens, she’s been nothing but a pain in the .....nnJokes aside, we got ourselves a new family member from Aquatic Pets, a beautiful kitten. The staff helped us pick her and were very helpful. They love the animals, they care for them and they make sure the right people go home with the right animal.nn10/10

Always leave this store satisfied, friendly staff always happy to help. Could have more staff some days
