Kingston Carpets

Great variety of different carpets and flooring. The lady working there was amazing and very nice and friendly. She even let us take home sample booklets of the carpets we like. Highly recommended.

We have previously used Kingstone Carpets twice and were very pleased with them, so when we decided to change our carpet naturally we went back to them.nEven though Kingston had our measurements we asked that someone could come out to double check as their records only showed the first carpet they install, not the second one, and we wanted to know where the joins would be and where we did not want new carpet.nThe measurer came out, (1 hour late) and really, he should not have bothered. He was a young guy who was not at all interested in what we had to say (all this whilst leaning up against the wall with his hands in his pockets!) We asked about the joins in the carpet and where we would prefer them to be - his response “they will do it the way they want to”! In our opinion he treated us with disrespect - just old folk -he knew better. He annoyed my partner to such an extent he told him that we were the client paying the money. Having our own business, we certainly would never employ someone with such an attitude.nWe went back to Kingston Carpets at Panania the next morning and relayed to Vicki in the showroom of our experience with the measurer. She told us that he was the owner! (Unbeknown to us the family business and still advertised as such, had been bought by one of their employees about 5 years ago by Darcy the measurer!) We left her with our carpet colour choice and we would wait for a quote, expecting it that afternoon, it never eventuated.nWe had previously been to Menai carpets to get some edging. Jamie went out of his way to help us. So, remembering this experience we decided ask him to give us a quote as well.nWithin an hour he had given us a very reasonable price. He also gave us the due respect of being a prospective client. He was definitely our choice.nI rang Vicki from Kingston Carpets a couple of days later and asked where was our quote? She informed me, in a not so friendly voice that I had gone with Menai promptly hung up on me!nWe highly recommend Menai Carpets as the only place to go and stay clear of a “young man who thinks he knows everything and better than anyone else”. Darcy ‘bought’ a well-established, respected company, he did not have to go through all those years of blood sweat & tears building a company up from the ground – that is where experience, maturity, respect and pride is gained.

Helpful and professional service. If you are looking for floor laying then drop in and have a look/chat. I used them 15 years ago to lay some flooring and no problems with the result.

Used Kingston carpets for years, good service, value for money and reliable

Due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID my wife and I decided to put our travelling money into the house. Having not renovated for 25 years we were looking at replacing an existing terracotta tiled floor (75SQM) and redoing our kitchen. We couldn't pull the floor up without destroying the house, so our options were to go over the top with a floating floor. After getting several quotes and generally being underwhelmed with product detail and service we tried closer to home and luckily struck gold with Kingston carpets. The owners, Darcy and Drew, are installers themselves and their advice was invaluable. We ended up doing a levelling compound over the existing floor topped by a vinyl plank. The results are fantastic. By another stroke of luck both owners did the laying themselves over a period of 3 days. Could not be happier with the service, during and after the lay. The advice given was spot on and the end result is better than we anticipated. Cannot recommend these guys enough, a pleasure to deal with and competitively priced as well.
