I highly recommend Gordon Private for an inpatient stay. I’ve completed 3.5 weeks and have felt it was a positive experience for me. The nursing staff and group facilitators were fantastic. They showed professionalism, compassion, care and concern. They had a wealth of knowledge and experience when it came to all mental health concerns and could almost see issues coming before I could, normalising parts of the inpatient experiences.nAt one point I needed a room change and this was easily accommodated.nGroups were run so well! Facilitators gave everyone the opportunity to contribute and presented very clear rules for groups; which meant everyone did get a chance to feel part of the discussion topic. If you felt distressed and left the group, someone came to see if you were ok. So it felt very supportive.nRecreation spaces were clean and tidy and comfortable, peaceful and nurses made sure they stayed that way.nMy psychiatrist saw me twice a week consistently as did my assigned psychologist. One day the psychologist was off work sick and he phoned to have a session with me! Outstanding care and consideration.nAftercare and discharge planning were prepared in advance and I felt I had a solid footing before departure. I would come back again if and when I needed to.

The nursing staff were beyond willing to spend their time to help me in which I couldn't have asked for anything better, however I felt neglected by the psychiatric staff during my stay. I needed to have 1 to 1 therapy with a psychologist but they didn't offer this service. I felt like medications were what everyone was focused on were I really wasn't benefiting. The group's run were more of a lecture like structure and I wish we had been given work sheets or booklets. I became more I'll during the admission then when I went in. I was frustrated as I wasn't being heard and then when I became too I'll for them to manage I was sent to the public system and discharged in days when I wish I had the opportunity to come back. The hospital it's self is high class and food is fantastic. But I believe it needs a lot more work towards patient centred care and a multi disciplinary approach. I feel many other patients like me would benefit from regular 1:1 sessions with psychologists during their stay. Not everyone's recovery is based of medications. All I wanted was to be heard by my doctor. Too all the nursing staff who spent countless time with me and listening I congratulate you on your exceptional care. I hope Gordon private hospital continues to improve as time goes on. Thank you

I spent 2 months in Gordon Private early this year for severe depression and I'm so glad I chose that hospital over all the others. The hospital itself is very modern, comfortable and clean, and without exception, the staff there are all fantastic. They are patient, professional, caring, friendly and always helpful. Even the patients are great. I found that despite their problems they are all friendly and well-mannered. I got to meet some great people there and I think that our evening group chats were very therapeutic for me.nnThe only one problem with Gordon Private is the food. It's too good. Much too good. You will almost certainly leave that place heavier than you came. I did. :)nnSpeaking to a few of the other patients who had been in other private psychiatric hospitals, they all said that Gordon Private was the best, and it's easy to see why. The same can be said of most of the doctors. Mine was fantastic and managed to put me into remission from my severe depression of 3 years. Other patients also spoke very highly of their doctors, and also like me got a lot out of the group therapy classes there.nnI look back at my time in Gordon Private very fondly for many reasons, it really was like heaven for me and I was so sad to finally have to leave. I would recommend Gordon Private to anyone as a great place to recover, you won't regret it.

Excellent experience.nSkilled nurses.nCompassionate psychologists and psychiatrists.nPolite and kind staff.nGood food for a hospital.nDecent facilities.nI only wish there were more varied types of psychotherapies, but what they do there are still considerably great anyway.nOverall, highly recommended.

This hospital is great. Fabulous doctors and psychiatrists who really do care and listen. Pretty good food too on the whole. Lovely nursing staff too. Really couldn't fault my 3 week stay there.
