Whitworths Brookvale is a delight to deal with. The stock levels are good, the guys are very knowledgeable and will point you in the right direction if you don't know what you should get. The customer service is exceptionally good in my multiple interactions with them. I would trust Whitworths with all things marine without hesitation. Oh! and the price, for the most part is competitive too.
I don't own a boat but I find a lot of stuff, mainly electrical for my caravan. Big store, lots of stock. Parking on-site.
These guys recommended altex timber core marine varnish for my woodworking project and it was the worst thing I have ever used. I asked if it was clear and they assured me it was but it immediately came out an ugly yellow colour in liquid and when dried. I can’t even sand off the coats I put on as the friction melts the coat slightly and makes it unbearably gooey. Literally ruined my project after so many hours of hand labour.
Great range of stuff - I have been here for many non-marine needs, eg loads of electrical stuff for my camper trailer - Better range than most of the camping shops.
if the rope offcut discount basket doesn't have the rope tagged with prices don't touch them or you will be accused of cutting them to try and get a discount. MAYBE THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS PROCESS OR REMOVE THE OFFCUT DISCOUNT BASKET ALL TOGETHER.
