Baxter & Black

I cannot recommend Baxter and Black highly enough. We had taken my mother’s vintage croc wallet to a few places to get repaired and was told it was too hard.nI really had hoped there would be an artisan out there who would see the beauty in the wallet and take it on as a loving project and be able to understand the sentimental value of the piece.nI googled cobbler Sydney and up came Baxter and Black. We took the wallet to the store in Newtown where we met Nathan and everything I had hoped for unfolded. Even above and beyond. He took the project on with amazing insight and problem solving ability. He even sent pics as it progressed including us in the refurbishment…. he somehow managed to patina the part he had to replace to maintain its aged appearance. It not only looks vintage, the feel to touch is remarkable. What a delight to know that there are people who take their craft so seriously and passionately that you know your precious items are in such good hands. The finished product is just so beautiful and we are truly grateful for the entire experience. Have already taken more in to get fixed!

I have a pair of Nicks boots that I was disappointed with, the crepe soles had worn quickly and they were actually dangerous to walk in. I went to Baxter & Black where Nathan and the team worked with me to select the best replacements and make sure the boot looked and worked exactly as I wanted it. Soles were ordered from the US at no extra charge. When Nathan found they could not be machine stitched they were stitched by hand (which must have taken hours and hours) This was not so much a repair as an upgrade, Im so pleased and would recommend Baxter & Black without hesitation

Nathan is a master craftsman, the service was friendly and professional and the turnaround time was super quick. My favourite boots have been brought back to life and are looking better than ever. I'll be coming back with the rest of my shoe collection!

I had a pair of sued casual shoes that had developed a tear in a difficult place to mend. But I was thoroughly impressed by the helpful and friendly staff, who were happy to mend and sew using their creative skills. The finished product was even better than what it was originally, because now my shoe has character.

Got my shoes resoled there a couple of months ago. They went above and beyond with there craftsmanship. I will be getting more shoes repaired from them in the future.
