I have been involved in the construction industry for 35 years, had dealings with hundreds of consultants over the years, and this is the first time I have ever written a negative review.nnI had a simple DA and thought why not give the new guy a go!nnMy dealings with Zone Planning seemed professional and in my best interests at the start, this soon turned and I was steering down a long drawn out abyss of expense and time.nnI was forced to remove Zone from the DA process as they had cut off contact and removed their services when I questioned their billing and strategies. I dealt with GC City Council myself who I must say were magnificent to deal with and couldn’t do enough to help, we had draft conditions approval in 16 days and full approval 42 days later. Like I said, a simple DA.nnZone Planning then decided to take me to court for their outstanding fees. They engaged a collection agency that resorted to constant calls, emails, and texts.nnI provided a detailed evidence supported response to their application and in my view presented more than enough for Zone to reconsider their position. They didn’t and we ended up in QCAT presenting our arguments. The crux of my case was had Zone provided their services in accordance with their fee proposal in a competent and professional manner in the first instance no further works would have been required.nnThe error centred on Zone’s failure to identify clashes between the proposed drawings and the historical drawings, primarily we were attempting to locate two new car spaces where the existing truck parking bay was located. Zones claim for these fees were dismissed completely!nnIt was a negative experience for me!
