Biggest armoured collection I have ever seen
Awesome local attraction. Something different than most places on offer in Cairns. Great for its education factor. A stunning collection of military vehicles and historic artifacts. They even have the tank set from the film Fury! Well worth the visit.nnP.S. Doing this business for report testing to see if responses are automated
Called into this wonderful repository of military history again. I don't get up to Cairns very often, the last time was 2018 and I was so looking forward to seeing the new displays this time.nI followed along with a small group tour (about 7 people) with Paul - a local volunteer military historian which was very entertaining and informative.nYou could spend several hours here, wandering around on your own just to skim over all the exhibits. It's the best exhibition I've been to.nThanks again to everyone in Cairns for their dedication to preserving these magnificent pieces of history.
Very nice place. Very open. And the tanks inside are very fascinating. Much larger then i expected. Personally the best armour museum ive ever been too. But very very hot during summer. There is no air conditioning except for a few very large fans on the warehouse ceiling. Tanks are extremely well maintained. They have a small seating area for drinks and a mini playground for very young kids. The gift shop there is also a very good place to get tank related toys and hobbies for kids and adults. Including detailed models of the tanks seen in the museum. Good place recommend to see during winter. But its sweltering during summer
An unbelievable, experience I have been to many museums throughout Australia but this one is well above board. The firing range is excellent the stuff positive, helpful and friend the range of vehicles is unbelievable!! The work and money put into this collection is simply breathtaking and a real crown in the cap. If you love Tanks and artillery this is for you! More and more vehicles are being collected annually
