Cairns Transport and Main Roads Customer Service Centre

We are international people new to Queensland registering a car. We anticipated long waits and a lot of hassle and forms, but Holly greeted us helpfully and got us sorted in the queue. The wait was less than 20 minutes despite going midday on a Friday. Kim was patient and helpful and answered all of our questions. We were in and out in half an hour.

Very friendly staff, first thing straight as you come in, someone assisting with quick enquiries pointing you in the right direction and assisting with forms. There was a short wait approximately 20 minutes, but you have to be realistic with places that serve this many people. Again staff at the counter were very professional and friendly. Enjoyed a good chat whilst they were entering details and had everything I needed sorted. This is definatly one of the better transport offices. Thanks!

Not an unpleasant experience once you gain admission. But why change opening hours on one day of the week. Were the staff inside having a meeting to discuss how better they can serve their clients while twenty customers are waiting outside expecting an 8.30 opening. It seems only Gov Depts including hospitals do this sort of thing. Private enterprise would open the same time each morning.

Very hit and miss. One lady was quite unfriendly and unhelpful. Got onto another man who was super helpful and sorted my rego and licence in a few minutes!
