The Public Trustee of Queensland

The public trustee in my opinion is a very deceiving company. My mother drew a will with the public trustee leaving me as an advisory trustee which I believe has no meaning, she didn't want me to stress as I suffer with a severe mental illness so left them as executor of the will. They are aware of my condition as I have provided the evidence, hospital reports doctors reviews including psychological and still they won't respond or settle. They have been reported by the ABC and the key points are ■ Queensland Public Trustee has been accused of fee-gouging vulnerable people ■ Avocates have suggested asset rich clients could be left destitute ■ Public Trustee response is that it has a mandate for the structure of it's operations. In other words they have made there own rules. I am on a disability pension and need every cent of my mother's money to be able to maintain my health and well-being, according to my doctors. Last but not least this is a quote from the ABC broadcast written and posted on 24-2-2021 and again on 3-3-2021. Queensland Public Trustee is charging asset rich people in its care high fees and charges, that they are drained of their resources in just a few years the boss of a leading care support agency said.nThis is very distressing for someone who is already having a difficult time. BE AWARE OF THE PUBLIC TRUSTEE. Make a will doesn't cost much but assures you your loved ones will be able to move on quickly without delays.I have already gone to the complaints department and I will wait 6wks until I can get the ombudsman to investigate.

I had a bad experience when I updated my will recently with the Public Trustee and put in a complaint. I am giving 4 stars now because after my complaint the action was very swift and I was helped to get a will that I am happy with by two other knowledgeable , courteous and helpful staff.
