Queensland Human Rights Commission

Talked to a female lawyer there last year about me being discriminated against by another person in a government department when I applied for work with the latter. The female lawyer basically said that essentially there was no recourse rather than informing me where I could get the matter legally heard and have the possibility to receive some appropriate compensation. This lawyer should have told me all my options and should not be in the role that they have or had at the anti-discrimination commission.

Government staff for this public body are extremely diligent, nice, courteous, professional and helpful. A staff member, manager and head conciliator of the Commission actually devoted his weekend time to assist me and another party to resolve a dispute. I don't know of any one else who would actually do that which really impressed me. In my country where I am originally from, no public / government staff would ever do that. If I could give this place, and particular manager/head conciliator a 10 out of 5 stars I would. Thank you for all your effort, assistance and diligence.
