A fantastic museum completely run by volunteers, very informative and the lovely ladies are very helpful, lots of displays and video presentations all about the history of sugar.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The introductory video was a good background on how sugar is grown and processed. The museum felt cramped as many of the displays were quite large: cane train locomotives, model of a mill town, a cane harvester, and a massive engine you can run by pressing a button. Definitely worth a stop on the Bruce Hwy - 45mins to 1hr would be more than enough.

We were warmly greeted by David who explained how the centre exhibits worked. We moved clockwise around the videos, information stands, the museum pieces, cane locos, and theatrette. The information is well presented, explaining how modern technology is helping the farmers and the environment. Good facts and data on sugar production. And we had an intriguing hand-out on jellybeans....Well worth the $10 per person entry fee.

What a fabulous place! The kids were able to climb on all the sugar trains, interact with the big machinery, and look at the living conditions of the sugar cane workers in their huts. My older ones were engaged in the tragic history of slavery in the original sugar cane The musueum was really kid friendly with a positive vibe, we really enjoyed it.
