Home Valley Station

In our opinion Caravan sties were expensive and very average, just a spot in a paddock, we felt uncomfortable that our casual dress was not well received by reception at the restaurant, it was not what you would expect of a working outback cattle station, that is if it is. We asked about the homestead and we now believe there is no such homestead to see. We come from the country and we felt this operation was setup to impress the urban tourist only. 2 Stars are given however 5 Stars for reception on arrival, they were friendly and very accomodating. Apart from arrival, Not lmpressed. Not a patch on the Durak homestead at Lake Argyle or Caravan park there.

We had a fantastic 4-day stay at lovely Home Valley Station in one of their Grasscastle rooms. Rooms were superb and had a great view. Staff were genuinely friendly. Food was nice. Pool a real treat. The vibes were just really really good. We loved every minute of our stay there!

Stayed two night. Staff, restaurant and grounds excellent. Even if you don't do the Gibb River Road a must to stay at. Great sunsets on the river.

Great outback place with superior Barra fishing 4wheel drive tours , helicopter fishing and sightseeing tours, restaurant reasonably priced and some interesting dishes served. Meals are of good standard and plentiful. Small but reasonably priced wine list. Service is very good. Indigenous trainees are a great addition to all the staff. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
