Hi I rang this morning just to ask about the likelihood of being able to get out of Laos to Australia , Sydney. I went through all the options and as it is not an emergency went to operator assistance which after a while just rang out! I then recalled and asked for passport holder assistance option 3 which also rang and rang and then cut out. I am wondering if anything official has gone through about the reopening of Laos and Thai borders. Can anyone please answer my query? I am registered with the Embassy. Margaret Wilson

I was very unhappy with our treatment here. I was bitten by a stray dog and needed help ensuring access to the rabies vaccine. I figured the embassy would be able to help one of its citizens. Unfortunately not. The two locals out the front didn't speak a word of English and put me on the phone to an Australian, who put me through to an English speaking local, who told me to call the embassy in Hanoi. We were very disappointed that we didn't even get the opportunity to speak face-to-face with someone
