Very reasonable entry price for such a large range of naval and war memorabilia and exhibits. Like others have said, there's more stuff here than some bigger museums. Spent a lot more time in there than I anticipated as it was just so much to see and read. Friendly curator who is passionate about history and can tell you anything about everything.

An excellent display of both Australian, European and North American maritime artefacts. Brian’s collection, together with his extensive knowledge is second to none. Highly recommend a visit if you are passing through and enjoy stepping into history!

If you enjoy your maritime history then this is an absolute must stop! An incredible hidden gem of maritime history. Brian, the curator, is a very hospitable, motivating, enthusiastic individual who has brought together a brilliant collection that spans over 6th centuries! Very reasonably priced, and he is happy to guide you through his museum and share some stories. From exploration, age of steam, both World Wars, and modern conflicts, modern exploration and Space age. Brian has collected thousands of badges, postcards, maps, photos, signatures of officers, flags, weapons, models. Personally, I enjoy the Age of Exploration (Dampier, Cook, Bligh, Flinders, Anson) and was in awe at the original maps, newspaper clippings, model ships and props. Honestly, well worth your time. Give yourself at least 2hrs to take it in. You can feel the passion of a man putting his heart and soul into his interests and turning them into a museum that is on a level above the state museums. Please take the time to support this man and admire his museum. It has a lot of potential and is needing expansion. It really is a treat and a highlight of St Helens and Tasmania. Thank you again the Dampier book and recommendations for Strahan.

My sister and I read the reviews and decided to visit, even though we are not that much into boats but this is a beautifully presented and very interesting collection, I highly recommend a visit and Brian thank you for being such a font of knowledge
