Bankfoot House

We were privileged enough to visit this house with a living descendant of the home.nA beautiful young woman named Gracie.nOur guide was very informed on every aspect of life on this property from the earliest days of white settlement.nHer insight into the lives of the families here was excellent.nThe First Nations people’s history within the area is very rich and I appreciated the acknowledgment shown before the tour.nThe area itself is of significant beauty.nWith the impressive Mount Tibrogargan casting her gaze over the property.nCredit to the council for the modern information centre and care taken over the property.nA wonderful glimpse into this beautiful region’s history.

This is a wonderful historic house and grounds. There are volunteers who can explain the history of this well restored 1860s house and dairy. There has been a video made, there are many historical items that make a visit. This area holds a much longer history being in the ancient lands of our First Nations People.

Great heritage cottage oldest on Sunshine Coast. Fantastic renovations to present it as it was . Great stories & photos from the past. Thanks for preserving .

A pleasant surprise! The buildings and ornaments are preserved superbly. The volunteer Lyndy was very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer free guided tours, which is a great way to learn about 19th and 20th century Australia. A nice hidden gem.

Council has done a wonderful job.The volunteers do a great job showing you around.Lots to look at plus a nice cafe,lovely town.
