Gympie Gold Mining and Historical Museum

I've lived in Gympie for only 12 months but I always love to catch up for a coffee, tea and lunch at the Gympie Gold mining cafe. I have had such a lovely end to my walks by visiting the cafe by having a tea and lunch there. The staff are so friendly and the food is great. By the way if you feel like a fish burger then go right ahead and enjoy every bite. Simply delicious and enjoy the lovely views from the balcony as well. 👍🍔🥐🍳 I'll be back to walk through the museum next time.

Such a surprise, I absolutely loved this experience. We spent about an hour n half but could have spent 3hours meandering around the buildings and museums, we will be back and have recommended others to visit

They're right you need at least two hours to see this wonderful place. Fascinating insight into the mining, the gold rush, living in houses and huts. Also fabulous collection of communication, media, and photography etc. We only wished that the upkeep was a little better. With the pandemic, they could have had working bees in each building to dust and de-web.

Fine museum depicting the lifestyle of early settlers of Gympie...displays include old mining tools and methods... costumes, toys , and a school of yesteryears. A military museum and fine display of toys also included. Another section uniquely allocated for agricultural and locomotive equipments. The horse display in the military museum and intricate details of military uniforms and weapons are amazing.
