I gave a birth in Mater but before my due date on an early morning (5-6 am) on a Saturday and all team were so professional and friendly. As I delivered couple of weeks earlier than due date, my baby girl had to stay in special care for 12 days and the team there were the best ones I've ever dealt with. They took a good care of my baby and also me and supported us very well emotionally and professionally as well. I felt so comfortable to leave my baby with them after I discharged from the hospital. Can't thanks them enough. We have been offered to stay for a night at hospital again with our baby girl after she discharged from special care to experience spending time with her at night before taking her to home.

The nurses and midwives there were very tentative and caring throughout my stay after my caesarean delivery. Service i would give 5 star, but the hospital itself and the stay i would only give 3 and it was not really worth the money i feel personally. Maybe because I didn’t have private health care for my delivery, and had to pay out of pocket so my expectations were a bit higher. Therefore i would not recommend this hospital unless you have phc. The meals at the hospital can be ordered throughout the day over the phone. Though for dinner, you have to order as early as 3-4pm in order to guarantee a hot meal, as i didn’t get dinner one night because their phones were down due to high demand for an hour, by the the time i got through they told me it was past the ordering time and they can only make me a sandwich. I went to the front desk to ask the nurses and nothing they could do as well. Poor system there for catering. Their rooms are quite old as well. Ive seen their new birthing suites but the rooms you stay are nothing like those new rooms. If you are lucky, you see some trees and city view, but if not you may get a dark miserable room with a huge silver vent outside the window. Best to go for orientation visit and compare before you decide on a private hospital.

I recently was admitted to The Mater for a medical procedure. I was seen first thing in the morning but had to stay overnight for observation. All hospitals have expertise and a level of care but The Mater has a large degree of KINDNESS.......yes KINDNESS! The doctors were attentive and so were my nurses. I have been in this hospital before to have a pin put in my broken arm and the same level of kindness was there. I believe that the staff at this hospital go out of their way to make their patients feel a high degree of comfort while they are there from the time they are admitted to being discharged.

Great and fast when you need them. Took my daughter here the other night and we were in and out like an urgent care. The er staff was friendly and I felt like we were given enough time with the Doctor.

Excellent doctors, care and service. I recently had major surgery here. The Check In was timely, the rooms very clean and comfortable and the food was good. The nurses were exceptional, providing excellent care with warmth and patience.
