Love this IGA, The staff are always so nice and their produce and variety is 2nd to none. I'll always go here over the majors just because I know I'm supporting local families and distributor's. And there always smiling!

A great range of items in stock, and very friendly staff who make you feel like family. This is exactly what a local grocery store should be like.

I dropped in while I was out for a walk with my youngest, in a walking in pram. I was trying to keep baby asleep, and decided to browse this IGAs selection for interesting things. The groceries you get are different at every IGA, drive every store is independent. Owners can stock whatever products they like, according to their local community's taste. You often get unique things that you don't see in the big two supermarkets, and I like to discover new things.nnI found some interesting American breakfast cereals and European foods, but nothing this time that interested me. The prices in independent supermarkets, like this one, are often high to post for costs, and I didn't feel like justifying the expense at that time.nnSo decided to leave empty handed. And I encountered the other downside to a local IGA. If you're not a familiar local to the staff, you're suspicious. And I was treated as such by the cashier. Maybe this IGA has a high shoplifting rate and the cashier has to be vigilant, especially when they are alone, and I have a pram which is a potential hiding place.nnBut I am also just a person going about their day. Bottom line: If I personally am treated with naked distrust if I go into a store, for doing nothing more than existing; then I'm not going to feel overly motivated to shop there a lot. You can check bags with good customer service or poor service. I frankly don't like going into stores knowing the only way I can get out the door without being treated with a hostile attitude is if I purchase something.nnIf that's the case, I'm not going to go in unless I can guarantee I'll buy: so probably not often.
