National Dental Care - Darwin

Specify seeing a dentist. Extremely Cheeky. I did not realize I had to specify I wanted to see a dentist at a dental clinic. I made the booking online in a spot that appeared available. I was early as this was my first time there and understand there are forms to fill out etc. I was then taken in by a hygienist. He was polite and friendly and removed some build up I had. I advised I did have a pain a few days prior, but it had stopped at that point. He took some X-rays. He said he could not see any holes but was not 100% sure as he is a hygienist. If I wanted the dentist to have a look I would have to rebook as they didn’t have time to see me? I was becoming a little confused as I made the booking online in a spot advertised as available. Rebooking is not an option for me as I live and work remotely. I was on holidays and made the booking assuming I would be seen by a dentist. After he finished, I was taken back to the counter where I sat down to be charged by a dentist who did not have time to see me. The real kicker is when I jumped online to make my claim through health insurance and the “dentist” appeared on the claim a dentist who I didn’t even see in the clinic that day. Different to the one who had time to charge me but no see me. No I didn’t say anything at the time as I was a little confused by it all and was trying to process what was happening. The hygienist was friendly, and I can see this being a good clinic. I can imagine the dental clinic gets extremely busy and this is a smart business move to see more people that maybe don’t need to see a Dentist as such or who have the time to rebook appointments as they live in town. I’m assuming it’s not the staff’s decision to have a hygienist consult people as an appointment. For someone who doesn’t live in town or even close to a town the time and money I wasted is extremely frustrating.

Have a really weird policy about booking an appointment on Saturdays. If you are the first person to book on a Saturday, they try and charge you an extra fee, however if you book on a Saturday that already has an appointment, they don't charge the fee.... Absolutely bizarre charging the first booking. Receptionist is very awkward and made me feel uncomfortable, alot of the practice problems could be fixed with some training I think. Dentist was really nice, but when booking a another appointment the receptionist refused to book the same dentist for me.

Super friendly staff and very professional. My dentist is Aaron Tamayo and he was awesome! Definitely my go-to dentist from now on.

I am so afraid to visit dentists since i was very little. Therefore, a reliable dentist to me is very important. I am very happy to have the service at national dental care Darwin. Staff are patient and friendly, let me don`t feel too stress to see the dentist. My family and many friends now are their patients with positive comments.

Had a great dental treatment provided by Dr. James Min and Gloria. Excellent facilities plus friendly and reliable staff.
