Riverview Tourist Village

We have a lovely powered site. The facilities are clean and easily accessed after a short walk. lots of vegetation affording some privacy where we were. We were also right near the hot springs gate. Just approx 500m walk to get to the hot springs. If we are passing through Katharine we will definitely book in here. Very full so likely need to book in advance as we did. Would recommend.

Our cabin was horrendous. It was mould infested & the smell was overpowering we couldn't sleep in the room. They had a moisture container on top of a cupboard that was full, the air conditioner didn't work properly, the kitchen was falling apart, the sheets looked dirty, the flourescent light was duct taped up to the ceiling with tape touching the globe, the toilet door kept falling of, the ceiling looked like it was ready to fall in.nI called the after hours number 3 times all going to message bank. When I finally tracked down the managers/owners they said they left the phone in the office.nThey attended the cabin with a drain plunger suggesting the toilet was blocked which it wasn't then telling us something had died in the ceiling &then it was the air conditioner was blowing the smell in! They immediately offered a full refund, which 3 days later I still don't have & told us that couldn't offer any alternative as they were full so we had to sleep in our car the smell was that bad.nWe had to wash every item we took to remove the smell & we all were violently ill that night & the next day.nWe were overcharged as per their website prices.nThey have not replied to the emails or the phone call I made, leaving a message with the receptionist. They couldn't get out of the office quick enough in the morning & she was very evasive.nThe best thing about it was leaving!

Nice shady park. Short walk to hot springs, access from the park, wheelchair friendly. Little pricey $40 p/n unpowered, no water. Road noise was good during the night, only heard it during the day. Ample amenities blocks & clean. Has a cafe, service station next door.

Fabulous place. Friendly helpful staff. Great caravan spots, not crowded in like sardines....toilet facilities old but clean... and of course a lovely pool and walking distance to the springs.
