Amazing how a Royal Commission changes attitudes and customer service experiences. How refreshing. Now the challenge is to see how long it lasts but trust me when I say if you maintain this level of service customers will come back to you in droves.

I’ve just had the best bank experience in years at Commonwealth Cairns, Lake St Branch. I walked in off the Street, not a regular customer but with a serious problem. My old corporate credit card was still being used, not by me, and unbeknownst to me and with quite a debt attached to it!! The minute I walked in I was confronted with a friendly face and told to take a seat and “someone will be with you in a minute” Here we go I thought but surprise, surprise someone was with me in just a minute, another friendly face named Alison. Alison spent the next however long sorting out my problem with professional efficiency and in no time at all I was on my way. Congratulations to Commonwealth for maintaining the service most banks have lost.

Most inconvenient banking hours, and removed the ability to do a night drop, local businesses can’t drop their money off without leaving their business now, stupid logic, hardly the local people’s bank!!!
