A good place to train oneself for playing cricket

There are two Ovals at Marrara Cricket Ground - known as the "MCG" by locals. No. 1 is operated by NT Cricket Association, and has some administrative and traing facilities. It has very little seating, and parking is prohibited when anything remotely interesting is occurring. There is an unsealed carpark outside the fence, with poor access to Abala Rd. The No. 1, or NTCA, area was poorly designed, and since then every possible landscaping blunder has been committed on it. That said, the playing surface enjoys a great reputation among cricketers. No. 2 Oval is operated by the PINT's Club. The PINT's Clubhouse offers alcoholic beverages; meals six days per week; gaming; and pool tables. The dining and bar areas are spacious, and air-conditioned. There is a large, sheltered outdoor area behind the ClubHouse, and further back a large, grassed play area for children. The Club carpark is sealed, and quite large, with two entrances from Abala Rd. Meals are a good size, tasty, and inexpensive by Darwin standards. Sunday is "Roast Night".
