We agonized over selection of someone to do our attic conversion to dust free storage. We got one of the biggest players in the industry to quote and then they were unable or unwilling to answer some technical questions about the internal architecture of the roof. Another smaller player sent a quote without even seeing the existing attic. He must have just looked on Google Maps and based his estimate on that.nnSam from Butres Group came, inspected the attic, and submitted a quote with itemized list of everything that he would do. He was also able to see the opportunity of doing 20 square metres rather than the ten the big player suggested. He was very patient thru our questions, and never pushy about getting the job.nnHis team consisted of his own staff, Shane and Wagner, and you couldn't ask for a better pair of craftsmen to share your home with during the process. Honest, friendly, polite, careful and with an attention to detail that only comes from years of experience working on these attic conversion projects. He also brought in other tradesman for specialist work such as Steve the Gyprock guy, and Bimal from Anji Electrical for A/C and electrical work. They took their time and good care to provide great service. I even hired Bimal to do some other electrical, TV and CCTV work.nnThe result is spectacular. We paid for 20 square meters and got over 25. The room is good enough to live in even tho it is only designed for storage. They helped us move stuff up there and fixed up a few other things around the house at no charge. They even raked the leaves in the driveway. They paid a lot of attention to cleaning up any mess as they worked.nnIf you're looking to do an attic conversion in Sydney, and you don't at least invite Sam around to give you a quote, then you're not doing yourself any favors. His quote may appear a little more expensive than others, but if you know the difference between cost and value, be assured you're going to get great value from a man who is committed to giving a great result. Trust that you will get what you paid for, and more on top. One of the contractors confessed to me that he wanted to cut a corner, but Sam vetoed it, saying that is not what the customer wants. Expect that same relentless customer focus when you get Sam on your project. And he was friendly to Ron the cat and even gave him one of his work blankets since Ron liked to sleep on it :-)

Sam recently replaced my downstairs flooring, revamped a dormer window and installed a new internal staircase. He was highly recommended by a neighbour & didn’t disappoint. The work has been finished to the highest standard and I cannot fault a thing. Sam went above and beyond, also doing a number of small additional tasks. Sam has a fantastic attitude and I was informed the whole way as to progress. I have no hesitation in recommending Butres!
