Chon Thai

Dined here again last night and I never cease to be amazed at the quality and variety of the food that Chon serves. To take so many different flavours and blend them together with such skill in such a diverse range of dishes is truly magical. One of my guests has a severe allergy to seafood and seafood-related products and this was handled with the usual efficiency and courtesy for which Chon, its chef and owner Air, and all the staff are well known. Well done team!

The food is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!! Our favourite place in Balmain, every item on the menu is on another level, bursting with so much flavour. I love sweet and sour pork, it’s one of my favourites, but you know how sometimes the sauce can be too sickly sweet or just tastes fake/cheap? At Chon, they take sweet and sour pork and elevate it. You get proper pork belly in the most amazing gourmet sauce that is beyond anything I’ve had. Love this place! Never been disappointed with anything I’ve ordered from the menu!

The food was Amazing. Was recommended to me and I'm glad we went for mothers day.nThe flavours, presentation were all brilliant and for the sizes of the dishes they are very well priced.

Ordered take away- extremely small portions, really not worth the price. $5 for a single curry puff or dumpling which while nice was not amazing. More pretty then tasty.nFood was nice but not amazing - again mains very expensive. I think there are equal or better places in Balmain.

Air and the staff are very friendly! Their food is always on point and the servings are very generous. Chon Thai has become our go to restaurant in Balmain
