For European or North American standards sadly this would not be considered a 5 star hotel. For $1000 a night we expected better for sure!nThe room cleaning service is appalling. Some days the room is cleaned, others it is not. Some days they just take your bathroom towels away and forget to replace them (even though I always hang them up because I want reuse them to help with water consumption). Some days they give you new soap when it has been used, others they don't... It is all totally arbitrary.nThe shower curtain is also completely black at the bottom... it looks like it hasn't been changed for years.nAlso the amenities might be shut for no reason. The gym might be open or they might decide not to open it for a few days or have it open much later than usual. Same with the pool and other amenities.nAlso the room phone was not working.nYou live with the uncertainty that things might just change with no warning.nIt is not a hotel you feel safe because things are not done properly and by the book.nDefinitely not a hotel I would recommend to anyone! Rio is spectacular, the Brazilians are so welcoming and full of joy & life so they deserve better representation than this hotel.

They claim to be a luxury hotel, which may seem correct from the outside. But this location is impossible to get to for cabs and ubers, so you will wait for 30 to 60 minutes every time. Also the rooms apparently have terrible air conditioning problems: my room hovered at 26 degrees C the entire time. The managers are good to try to help, but the front desk staff are snooty and generally non responsive. They are very understaffed and the check in process take upwards to 40 minutes. The taxi service out front made fun of me to me face after I balked at their ridiculous rates.nnI do not recommend this place. Luckily the manager staff at least worked with me on a refund for my torturous stay. This hotel nearly wrecked my new years.

The hotel is absolutely incredible! The staff is very caring and professional. The food is the best I've ever had. I am enchanted.

Was there before it was the Pullman so not sure if anything changed. Location is nice unless you want to be close to Copacabana. Rooms were a bit old fashion.

I have been in this hotel for a congress. The meetings place are nice and a lot of different ambience are available. With the new Metro line accessibility has been considerably improved. Food during the lunch buffet was fine.
