Blue Gentian Lake

Loads of snow. Only 2.6kms away from Cypress Nordic Ski area.

May 3, melting snowpack at the lake. Nice little round trip hike up to this. Snowshoes aren’t necessary at this time, but good hiking boots are recommended.

Good place to stop on a hike up from the British Properties. Hike up on the brothers Creek trail and down on Baden Powell trail. Park your car on Pinecrest or millstream drive. Lots of snow in winter, hiking boots with crampons needed halfway up.

Its a tranquil spot for hiking. The lake is too shallow for swimming, but its beautifully photogenic. There is one picnic table for your packed lunch. I hike here with my girlfriends to sit on the lakeside and chat. One of them owns the dog who loves the shallow lake for frolicking!

What a fantastic location up in the mountains. Beautiful hike with some great stretches along the way... Worth the trip, even though it's more than a "beginner hike"...
