I used Tier One travel agency in Airdrie to book the vacation instead of my usual of booking online. Angela was our booking agent. She was great overall and I would use her again in the future for sure. This was my first experience with West Jet Vacations. Four of us were traveling to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a 10-day vacation/surprise bday party. A few things I would have expected her to tell us about, being we choose a travel agent over an online booking, was that there was no 'online Check-in' in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The service isn't available in Punta Cana. Period. Then, at the airport, there is no West Jet Kiosk. There seemed to be every other airline, but no West Jet. Which means long long line ups. Not that this would have changed anything, but 24 hours before our flight home, we turned on Data Roaming just so we could do our Check-in and seat selection, with no luck. Would have been nice to know. I also thought she might warn us that coming home from Punta Cana, when we got to Toronto for our connecting flight to Calgary, we had to pick up our checked luggage and move it to another carousel so it would get to Calgary. This was not made clear by West Jet either, which caused a bunch of confusion for us. Not cool!! This meant we had to exit the airport, pick up our luggage, transfer it to where they told us, go back through security and get to our gate. Fine if we knew we had to do this, but, since we didn't, our layover time almost wasn't enough time. We didn't have to do this on our way to Punta Cana when we arrived in Toronto for our connecting flight. I've never actually had to do this before and we've done a fair bit of travelling. I am also surprised that we have been home from the trip since Friday, and, she's not following up with us to see how our trip went. I mean I expect all that when I book our trips online, but, I would have thought using a travel agent would be a little more personal. Seems to me, with all the options these days, travel agents would want to go just that little bit further so we'd continue to choose a travel agent over online bookings. Just saying. Now for the West Jets flight service. Nothing really new to report about air travel these days. You pay for your checked luggage as usual. No meals. Entertainment if you have your own device. The West Jet app has quite a bit of choices on it for Movies and TV shows. It seems all airlines have lowered their service standards over the past couple years and increased their charges to us. I had a very annoyed flight attendant on the way home, but, there could be many reasons for her mood. Overall their service is what I expected... average. FYI - this is my edit because a couple days after I posted this, Angela reached out to follow-up with us. Thanks Angela, I really appreciate that. Like I said, I wouldn't hesitate to use your services again for future travel.

Angela from TierOne Travel arrange a Riverboat cruise on the Danube in September 2018. She arranged all of our flights, hotel rooms in Budabest and Prague. The service was the best we have ever experience. While we were in Prague, we couldn't locate our flight itenery from Budapest to Frankfort - we went Angela a quick email and within a few hours we had all of our information sent to us.
