Nothing short of 5 stars for Dr Horsman and team. As it was somewhat urgent, they were able to fit me right away. Super genuine care and even called to follow up on a Sunday when they are closed. Top notch service.

The compassion and understanding shown to us by Dr. Horsman was exceptional. She patiently explained all the treatment options for our elderly and very ill cat. We appreciated so much her non judgemental and supportive manner. I also took comfort from the very gentle and kind way she handled our cat. This was an unexpected and very stressful situation for us and I can’t recommend Dr. Horsman and the hospital more highly.

Wow. I am so impressed with the kind of care we were shown in an emergency situation with our dog this weekend. We are from Langley and were visiting family when our chihuahua puppy swallowed a grape. We called this office and they were able to accommodate us immediately. I was met at the door and the vet herself came and took our dog to induce vomiting. I and my family were very worried but I immediately felt she was in the best hands. Our dog was treated and returned to me just as happy as she was before this ordeal. I thought she would be traumatized after this incident but everyone was so loving and sweet to the both of us that it was the best possible experience I could have hoped for in such an awful situation. The vet herself emailed me hours later to check up on the dog and provided me with useful information regarding care of this particular breed. I am amazed. I wish this clinic was not a ferry ride away. Honestly considering booking vet appointments for when I’m on the coast visiting family so we could continue care there.

The advice this vet gives cannot be trusted. Just over a year ago our beagle hazy was pregnant and eagle ridge was our vet. This was our first and only litter of puppies so we were inexperienced (and yes I have regrets about not knowing what to do) but I thought we could trust the vet to help us through this time. When hazy went into labour I called the vet that morning and said I think she’s started to show signs of labour (nesting a lot etc) early in the morning but no puppies have come yet. The vet advised us that labour can take a while and give it till the end of the day, so we did. It became clear that hazy was in distress And I was about to call the vet when the phone rang, they finally called to see what was happening and i said we need to bring her in. They were close to closing time but said bring her in anyways. After at least an hour of hazy being in distress they examined her and told us to drive over to sechelt animal hospital because they share on call nights and it was sechelts night. By this point we were stressed out and worried and now we’ve just wasted an hour at this vet! We rushed to sechelt Hospital and Dr Tam seemed obviously shocked at the advise we got from eagle ridge. He said he would have told us to come in that morning! He performed an emergency c-section right away. Turns out one puppy was stuck in the canal and died. He was able to save hazy and her other 5 puppies. I really don’t know how close we were to losing everyone but thank goodness for Dr Tam at sechelt hospital. The reason I took this long to tell the story about eagle ridge is that after that ordeal they sent us a bill in the mail for the completely useless check up they performed after giving us all bad information and knowing full well sechelt hospital was on call that night and they would not be taking care of hazy after hours. I talked with them and thought we came to understanding that the bill didn’t need to be paid. Now 14 months later , no bills have been sent in the mail since we spoke a year ago, And they call asking us to pay the 80$ bill. It’s not that I can’t pay the money, after a 3000$ c- section 80$ is nothing, it’s the fact that my dog and all her puppies nearly died due to bad advice from this Vet, so no I don’t feel they did deserve to be paid. This just brought up a whole lot of feelings and I’m very frustrated that I have to go through this again. Unbelievable.
