Well equipped facility on U of M campus. Great indoor track with a great view. Easy to find on campus, with close parking facilities. I went there recently as part of a research study and everyone I met was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. A great experience.

Update: Swimming pool: descent in size. ~30% of Olympic size length. Design of the area is average. Clean! There need to be more enforcement of users take a quick shower before jumping in, since I saw someone just let himself wet and just enter the pool area. . In 2 years, they improved a lot and quite a few upgrades on the equipments and policy (I'm talking the fitness floor specifically). Very good architecture for a gym with natural lights, spacious, etc. Input: More CCTV cameras in certain spot for belongings security (with analysis ofc) One caviat: AVOID peak hours. Other than that, 👍

A little less than a year ago I switch to another area gym and am loving it there. For the first couple of years I loved the ALC but felt it went downhill after that. I left because: • Membership fees expensive compared to other gyms. • Parking is expensive on weekdays before 4:30 pm. • Cellphone use in locker-room is getting out of hand. • Large garbage cans filled with non-recyclable wipes really tough to see. • On winter weekends parking lots and sidewalks are often not cleared. • Repairs to the facility often take a very long time and poor communication about outages. The new gym that I am going to is much cheaper with free parking. The policy for cellphone use is in the lobby only. I see very little use in the change rooms.

First class equipment with excellent service, the fact that I love about this place, there is always space for your workout.

It is the University of Manitoba recreation center. The services range from the gym, swimming pool, wall climbing, and more. The price for the student is quite affordable.
