We asked for a quote to lay paving stones on our driveway, sidewalk and patio. That was almost 3 weeks ago. Have not received a quote or heard from anyone at all. Left 2 messages with the receptionist to have someone call us. Tried to call the guy who came out. No answer and unable to leave a message as his mailbox was full. After reading other google reviews, it appears this is a pattern. This company does not appear to want business. ***Follow up to the owner's response: It's been over a week since he posted that he would have someone look into it and we have yet to hear back from anyone. No phone call. No email. So again they prove they do not want business. I do NOT recommend this company as it will be a waste of your time ***Update. Here we are in October 2020 and to date we have heard from anyone at this company. Ever. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We had JD Penner out on July 23rd to lay patio stones between our house and the concrete slab that had been poured for our new garage. Even though the slab was already in place so they knew exactly how the patio would align with the garage, the guys who installed it failed to properly grade it and essentially lined up the patio stones flush with the top of our concrete slab. It was clearly an issue, and the crew who framed our garage the following day said they wouldn’t even be able to nail down the z bracket for the stucco flashing until the patio stones had the grade lowered. Jonathan Penner came out to look at it the following day while our garage crew was still there and they explained to him how and why the patio stones needed to be graded lower, he agreed, said he would have his guys out within a couple days. It took at least another week for him to send a crew out, who upon arrival said nothing needed to be fix and everything looked standard because the stones were below the door frame to our garage. They sent Jonathan pictures and he said it looked fine and they left. At this point we contacted our stucco crew to show them photos and they agreed that it absolutely needed to be fixed because as soon as the ground frosts the stones would start pressing up on the stucco and crack it. By this point we called Jonathan and said he needed to come back to look at it again because our other work couldn’t go forward without it being fixed. He said it would come by in a couple days. By August 13th we had rain and it was telling just how poorly graded the patio was. I’ll attach photos to this review of how the rain drained straight into our garage from the poor grading. If the patio isn’t fixed not only will be end up with water running through our garage any time there is any significant amount of water or melting, it will be running through the wood framing of the garage and rotting it over time. Jonathan came by on the 14th and finally saw that this was an issue that needed to be fixed. He said he would have guys out on Wednesday or Thursday and that they would be taking up the entire patio to regrade the whole area and drop it 3-4 inches. Wednesday and Thursday have passed with absolutely no sign of JD Penner. We have called Jonathan multiple times with no answer, and no opportunity to leave a voicemail because his mailbox is always full. We have sent text messages. We have called his boss (no answer there either). We paid a lot of money to have this job done right, so it’s incredibly frustrating that this is how JD Penner has been responding. It’s even worse because they are holding up the work from being completed on our garage, thus holding up our other contractors from being paid. Leaving this review is our last straw. If you want work done with nice materials but don’t care about ever being able to get in touch with anyone after initial contact (we are still also waiting on quotes for additional work that we wanted done), or care about them holding up their warranty, then JD Penner could be a good option for you — but if you do care about those things then I would recommend looking elsewhere.

The good news is they have lots of variety. The bad news is that sometimes prices count more. Watch your prices here.
