I have been going to CrossFit Steinbach for a few months now, and am absolutely loving it! The coaches and members are all very welcoming and encouraging, and the workouts are always changing and challenging.
The 6-week Fundamentals program is a great introduction to Crossfit, and eases new members in before joining the regular classes. Lifting technique is taught and reviewed thoroughly to ensure athlete safety, and workouts can be modified to your individual fitness level.
Highly recommend!
I have been going to crossfit for over a year and it's been so fabulous! I like the coaches telling me the workouts so I don't have to come up with something myself. I am not a fancy athelete (yet!), but I really appreciate that I've never once felt that I shouldn't be there. They are awesome at scaling things to my abilities yet pushing me to get stronger and fitter. I strongly recommend CrossFit Steinbach. They are so encouraging all the time!
CrossFit Steinbach is more than a great gym. It is a community of supportive members and coaches who truly care. No matter your level of fitness, you are accepted and supported to achieve your goals, whatever they are. Love this place and these people!
I just had a baby at 35 years old and was adjusting to my new postpartum body. I was frustrated at how I felt and anxious to start working out again. I was a runner before this third pregnancy, because running offered the ease of, “ getting out of the house for a quick run.” Although running was convenient it left me feeling weak in other areas; mostly strength.
I always wanted to try cross fit but didn’t because my life was so busy. I told my husband that I was joining postpartum to see if I could build some strength and accomplish some of my goals Ie losing my postpartum weight, building strength and accomplish some amazing athletic feats ie freestanding handstand, a pull up, and lifting some heavy stuff.
I have finished the fundamentals course two weeks ago and have just started regular classes.
The fundamentals course is a wonderful way to ease into cross fit teaching you the basics and giving you a good foundation. I learned to set realistic short term goals so I could be rewarded faster and encouraged to keep going. Because everyone is starting together you learn together and grow together. Working out and healthy eating start to become a lifestyle not a fad. Fundamentals is the first step on the journey; the first accomplishment that makes you feel successful.
Although I have not met all my long term goals I have met many of my short term goals and have become faster, stronger and more committed to a healthy lifestyle. The gym has given me a place to go to have some “me” time and invest in being a healthier person. I have been encouraged and am inspired every time I attend a class!
I would recommend anyone to come out and try! Great coaches, supportive environment and fun atmosphere! It’s worthwhile investment. Start setting your first goal by joining fundamentals!
A friend in Winnipeg has raved about cross-fit for years, so in Jan 2019 I took the on-ramp course. I've been a runner for years, but never managed to get resistance training as a habit. I've really enjoyed my experience here. The coaches know their stuff, and I feel well guided as I go. I'm easily bored, so the variety of workouts is both challenging and humbling. The people are friendly and the wide variety of class times fit my changing schedule.
And importantly, I'm seeing the results, and my body feels much more durable!
