Mount Douglas Parking Lot

All the reviews stating a lack of parking, there is a massive parking lot at the beach, just 300 metres away. It adds to make a nice hike through the woods to Mt Doug itself, and adds just 5 or 6 minutes to your walk or 3 minutes to a jog. Would be nicer if folks would use the beach parking when the parking at the base of the hill is full, instead of parking up Churchill, past the gates, where no parking is stated.

Ideally sited at base of road and great walking trails. Amenities on site.

Park here but do not walk the paved road up to the top!!!! Take the "Irvine Trail" - it is an easy walk and starts a few metres behind the parking lot on the left. When we walked it, no one was there and you have amazing views of the ocean all to yourself. I would say the way up was even more beautiful than the summit itself where everyone is hanging out.
