Canada Post

Attended to verify info relating to a mail forwarding order. Staff members advised that they could not do it as no address showing on screen. Senior staff member stated that she had processed thousands of these and I likely did not enter an address. I stated how is it possible to complete and pay for a mail forwarding order without entering the address?! She suggested that I phone customer service, which I did. Customer service stated that everything was entered and completed as required and suggested that I go to a different post office which I did where the verification was completed seamlessly. I returned to this post office to advise of the circumstances. Staff members were unapologetic stating that there was no address in the system and the system was the same on all post offices. As it was verified at another post office, I suggested that they contact customer service to correct the obvious error at their location lest another customer gets the same unapologetic runaround. Appalling, unapologetic customer service.

I have to say I am a little bit shocked to see how low the rating on this post office location is. I have been at this location nearly every week for over a year. Staff are always friendly and polite and the primary agent that I run into (Deb) is always extremely helpful, efficient and very knowledgeable. She is also very fast at processing orders, while keeping a conversation and quick to help other staff not only with any issues that might arise, but to learn new tricks to save time. I actually come to this post office, despite a closer location here in Langley and though I can definitely relate to waiting in often long lines, this is no fault of the clerks. All of the cashiers here are pretty good and a lot of the delay is due to a location that serves a huge population (there are few post offices in the area) and COVID restrictions. My only recommendation would be to fix the issue of only having one cash open. This causes quite a burden for the cashier and frustrates impatient customers.

There is a 10-20 min lineup every single day in the evening. Sometimes there are 2 women here, but only one is ever working. They take turns chatting and wandering around the store. No wonder Canada Post is over budget and dying. Must be nice to have the kind of job security where you can do nothing at your job, and then go on strike for more money.

How is it possible that UPS, FedEx, and Amazon have all seemingly mastered the ability to use my buzzer... but for Canada post it’s an impossible task. Just take the two minutes out of your day to at least TRY and deliver the package. They just show up with the missed delivery slip and move on with their day, it’s ridiculous.

Refused to accept my bc services card as ID, they withheld my mail because the website said they don't accept services cards.
