I came from Grande Prairie, AB and to while away the hours, I stopped by the Tourism Dawson Creek. Which houses a beautiful museum. It was fun. Small and cozy on two floors. They ask for donations which I think is okay by the way. The staff are friendly and lovely. Did not know about the Mile 0 Alaska Highway until I came here. Especially how the overland route to Alaska was constructed by the US Army Engineers in the spring of 1942 during World War 2 at a cost of $140 million. Dawson Creek is a city of history. The Tourism center has wheel chair accessibility and a public washroom.

Impossible to miss before heading up the famous highway. See also the Mile 0 Cairn, Milepost and Alaska Highway House. First stop of interest is the old Crooked Bridge heading north to Alaska.
